From Arnstadt to Mühlhausen.

By 1706, despite his comfortable position in Arnstadt, Bach moves to Mühlhausen. Now Bach appears to have realised that he needs to escape from the family milieu and move to further his career. <br />Four months after arriving in Mühlhausen, he married his second cousin from Arnstadt, Maria Barbara Bach. The had seven children, four of whom survived adulthood. Two of them Wilhem FRiedemann Bach and carl Philipp Emanuel Bach became important composers in the Rococo style that followed the Baroque.<br />Despite his good work conditions and the city government recognition in 1708 he moves to Weimar, where he is offered a better post.
