Lisa's Holistic Rehab - Occupational Therapy Services

Lisa's Holistic Rehab provides occupational therapy to children and adults in the greater Halifax and Dartmouth areas. Lisa specializes in the cognitive rehabilitation of traumatic brain injuries and concussions, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), Dyslexia, DCD, learning disabilities, auditory processing disorder, sensory processing disorder, aspergers, and autism. Lisa's main focus is on cutting-edge rehabilitation of traumatic brain injuries to help her patients restore previous function or improve to a higher level of function. Focusing on using a systematic approach along with expertise in many different interventions, she helps her patient to improve neuroplasticity (the ability of the brain to change itself) and to achieve a greater chance of treatment success. Lisa Dennis has been an occupational therapist since 1999 working with a diverse clientele. She has extensive experience in community home-care working with adult and geriatric populations with physical disabilities. In addition, she has spent 4 years working in northern Labrador offering mental health and addictions services as well as school pediatric interventions with aboriginal youth-at-risk aged 6 to 24 years. She has also delivered different life skills courses to aboriginal inmates at a correctional facility, provided front-line suicide crisis intervention and created innovative programs for capacity building. She has most recently worked with active military members suffering from PTSD, mild traumatic brain injuries, chronic pain, and musculoskeletal injuries. Lisa's passion is to help her patients to reach their full potential despite their illness or disability using a rehabilitation approach. She offers services in both English and French and is licensed in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec.
