Segundo viaje de Antonio Machado a París (abril-agosto), donde Gómez Carrillo le ha conseguido un modesto empleo en el consulado de Guatemala. Allí conoce a Rubén Darío, poeta ya consagrado; ambos trabarían amistad, que se mantendría hasta la muerte de Darío en 1916. Este tambien es el lugar en que escribe su libro "Soledades".
